Readers,
I couldn’t help it. I just had to. I bought an amazing real Fraser Fir today. And it is just gorgeous. And the smell, well, besides being totally awesome, I keep remembering the Griswold’s trudging through the knee-deep snow filled forest searching for their behemoth. Well, believe you me, I found my behemoth today. A 6′ 6″ beauty. They even gave me a beautiful wreath for the front door. I have nothing against a pre-lit tree, I just have a tradition, a real tree in my home every Christmas as long as I can afford it. I fell in love with an amber colored ornament a few years ago and have been supplementing my collection of gold and amber as often as I can find them. The past few years combined efforts produced this tonight:
(yes, those are pheasant feathers in the bows on top of the tree. hee hee!)
And, of course, my boyfriends one and only ornament, his personal favorite. I give you, The Recliner:
I put up the stockings (yes, I have stockings for my pets – and a pet that passed away Summer of ’07), a wreath I made last year, an adorable new nativity set and a made a new centerpiece for the breakfast table, although I’m fairly certain the colors do not match the Christmas decor so much as they match the curtains I made this past Spring. Lest I forget the other 6 boxes of Christmas decor distributed and strewn about the apartment. Oh well!
I cannot, for the life of me, seem to find my outdoor lights though. I guess I’ll be buying some new ones next week.
Time for more Visions of Sugar Plums. Good night.
Be Sweet,

Oh, I am a real tree girl too! it is must.
(sorry so late) I am too. They smell much better than the fake ones. The plastic always gives me a headache!
